As we age, the likelihood of our permanent teeth getting damaged, becoming loose, or falling out becomes greater. However, there are options, such as dentures, that can ensure we maintain a beautiful smile into our old age!

Our team, here at Platinum Dental Provo, understands that getting dentures may seem like a daunting next step, so we are open to answering any questions you have and we can help guide you through the process. Call us today if you are considering dentures!

What are my denture options?

This can depend on the number of functional teeth you have remaining in your mouth. There are 2 main types of dentures: full and partial.

Full dentures will require all natural teeth to be removed and your gums fully healed before dentures can be accurately fitted. At Platinum Dental Provo, we will ensure this process is as painless as possible and will provide temporary dentures to be used while you wait for your gums to fully heal. A more permanent set of dentures will be custom-made in a laboratory so they will fit your mouth perfectly.

Partial dentures only replace some of your teeth and rely on the support of surrounding healthy teeth as well as a framework that is built into the mouth. Sometimes crowns are placed on some of your natural teeth to provide an anchor for the denture. Partial dentures will be made to match your remaining natural teeth.

Our friendly and understanding staff at Platinum Dental Provo will help you determine which type of dentures will best fit your needs. Simply schedule an appointment today!

Facts About

Dentures

  • Dentures fit your mouth and give you a beautiful smile.
  • They are removable so you can easily clean and sleep without them.
  • Dentures are made out of a hard resin and more flexible polymer material so it can fit snugly on the natural gums.
  • Dentures are held in place by suction or with the aid of an oral adhesive.
  • You should continue to visit your dentist annually to ensure your dentures are working well for you.
