Juan Chavez, DMD

My daughter had a dental emergency and we walked into Platinum Dental as everyone was getting ready to go home for the day. Dr Chavez and his staff stayed 2 1/2 hours late and did the most amazing job for my daughter. The empathy and professionalism from every person in that office combined with the skill of Dr Chavez was outstanding, and we can’t thank them enough!

Dr. Juan C. Chavez grew up in Orem, Utah and attended Brigham Young University where he received his degree in Finance from the Marriott School of Management. He then served an LDS mission in the Fresno California Area. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After finishing his degrees he undertook a hospital-based residency at the University of Utah Hospital where he was trained in advanced dental and surgical procedures along with sedation. That training and all of the additional training he has taken over the past decade allows him to make the smile of your dreams and ultimately change lives. He practiced in Dallas, Texas before moving to Utah where he happily offers everything from root canals to deep cleanings, veneers, dental implants, teeth whitening, smile design, and more. Dr. Chavez enjoys being outdoors and is an avid mountain biker and skier. Cooking and traveling with his wife and children are his other passions. He believes that having a gentle hand goes a long way in dental care and is committed to providing every patient with excellent dental care.

Shane Stapleton, DMD

I was having a toothache so decided to stop here to see what care I needed and could not be happier with my first visit. I met with Dr. Stapleton who made my visit amazing. I was given a care plan based on my needs and I look forward to my future visits here.

Shane Stapleton is from South Orange County, California. He completed his undergraduate degree in Molecular Biology and General Business at Brigham Young University, followed by a 4-year DMD program at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine in South Jordan, Utah. Dr. Stapleton is committed to providing personalized care to his patients in Utah, where he has been practicing dentistry for several years. He is dedicated to helping his patients achieve optimal oral health and is known for his compassionate approach.In his personal life, Dr. Stapleton enjoys spending time outdoors, whether golfing in the summer or skiing in the winter. He is a proud husband and father, with a beautiful daughter named Micah Shay Stapleton and a loyal golden retriever dog. His wife is a Nurse Practitioner at Premier Family Medical in Eagle Mountain, Utah.

Dr. Luis Franco - Endodontist

I had a retreat root canal done yesterday, and have had zero pain afterward. Dr. Franco has the nicest bedside manner and has the greatest skills to go along with kindness. I highly recommend using him for your endodontics!

Dr. Franco is a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an officer. He received his degree in Flight Operations from Westminster College, DDS from the University of Utah and completed his residency in Endodontics at Boston University. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontics, the American Dental Association, the Utah Dental Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilot Association. Dr. Franco has a passion for educating others about patient care and the incredibly interesting world of endodontics. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, swimming and learning how to play the piano and electric guitar.

Dr. Shaun Heward - Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon

I had oral surgery today. I had anesthesia and everything went perfectly. The whole team was great! Dr. Shaun Heward, the surgeon, is so caring and kind. He called me twice before my surgery to explain everything that would be done and to answer my questions. It really put me at ease.

Dr. Shaun Heward was born and raised in Sandy, Utah. He attended Alta High School and completed his undergraduate at University of Utah. During this time he worked as a dental laboratory technician making crowns and bridges. He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he completed dental school at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Following dental school, he began medical school at the University of Michigan Medical School. While at the University of Michigan, he also completed his internship in general surgery, residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was a chief resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Heward has extensive surgical training in corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery), tumors/cysts of the jaws, face trauma, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, cleft lip and palate, face reconstruction and bone grafting. He is delighted to have moved back to his home state of Utah and working with Platinum Dental Services. He also has a passion for serving others abroad and continues to treat less fortunate patients on mission trips overseas. When Dr. Heward is not at work he enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, biking, shooting, gardening, wood working and cooking.

Dr. Brandon Williams - Orthodontist

The orthodontist Dr. Williams and his assistant took great care of me, answered all of my questions and made sure I understood everything. I’ve never had this high quality of care with my previous dental providers.

Brandon H. Williams, DDS, is a retired US Air Force Colonel. He served four years as a General Dentist and an additional 17 years as an Orthodontist in the USAF Dental Corps.Originally from Alamosa, CO, Dr. Williams graduated from Brigham Young University in 1998 and earned his DDS from Case Western Reserve University in 2002. With an ardent passion for orthodontics, he has treated thousands of patients, catalyzing transformative changes in their smiles and bolstering their confidence.Dr. Williams provides a diverse array of services, ranging from braces, clear aligners, and palatal expansion to orthognathic surgeries.Beyond the realm of dentistry, he finds joy in spending quality time with his family and embarking on journeys of exploration through travel.

Dr. Robert Swenson - Periodontist

Seeing a dentist is rarely at the top of the list of fun things to do. Dr Swenson and his staff may not have put it on the top of the list but they definitely helped move it up several notches. They were professional, competent and friendly. Highly recommend him if you are looking for a good Periodontist.

Dr. Swenson grew up in Utah County, he attended Pleasant Grove and Mountain View high schools. After high school he served a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in France and Switzerland. After his mission, Dr. Swenson attended BYU and earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. Dr. Swenson later moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend VCU dental school. While there he met his wife, Andrea, as she returned from her mission in Colorado. They were married in the Washington, DC temple. Dr. Swenson graduated from Dental school in 2015 with his DDS degree, honors from Quintessence Publications for his research in Oral Cancer, and honors from the American Academy of Periodontology for his work in Periodontics.
